February 28, 2017 NH Family Voices, the Parent Information Center and the YEAH Council invite you to the Partnering for Strength Conference 2017 on March 11, 2017 at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH. Partnering for Strength is really two conferences under one roof with a common focus. Kathy O’Connell of Radiant Abilities is the keynote speaker for the adult conference. She will be addressing Supporting Children & Youth to Lead an Empowered Life: Embracing Our Different Abilities. The keynote speaker for the youth conference is Randy Pierce of 2020 Vision Quest. At the age of 22, Randy unexpectedly lost his vision over the course of a short two weeks due to a devastating neurological disease. That didn’t stop him from being the first blind hiker to summit all 48 of the NH 4000-footers.
Registration is required for the adult conference. The fee is $30 for parents of a child with a disability/special health care need and $40 for professionals which includes breakout sessions, a full lunch buffet and refreshments throughout the day.
The second conference is the youth conference: Access your Voice ~ Connect with Yourself on the Road to Self Advocacy. The youth sessions are planned by youth for youth between the ages 14-26 with a disability/special health care need. The focus is to learn more about taking charge of your life including sessions on home, doctors, and school. Youth conference registration is also required. The fee is $20 for youth with a disability/special health care need which includes all breakout sessions, a full lunch buffet and refreshments throughout the day
Partnering for Strength is an annual event focusing on educating, collaborating and enriching families, professionals and youth.
