Tips for Transition has 134 transition tips submitted from all over the country by practitioners. The purpose of Tips, originally published in 2009, is to identify and share grassroots transition practices. Some are a few sentences; others are longer. There’s contact information for each submitter so you can get more details. The Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT) and the Transition Coalition at the University of Kansas collaborated to collect the tips.
The categories are:
- Transition planning
- Student involvement
- Family involvement
- Curriculum and instruction
- Transition assessment
- Assistive technology and universal design for learning
- Disability-specific transition
- Interagency collaboration
In addition to downloading the 35-page PDF, you can also search the tips online at the Transition Coalition. Submit your own tips too! I searched on New Hampshire – our state has submitted two tips so far.
