The Parent Information Center (PIC) and NH Family Voices are hosting a series of free online Family Chats this year, called Time for Transition. Registration is limited to 15 families to keep the numbers low enough for good conversation. The next ones are:
- Dec 9, 2020, 3:30-4:30 pm, Understanding Pre-Employment Transition Services for Students, with Lisa Hatz from New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation (NHVR). The Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) curriculum supports students with disabilities to become part of the local workforce as they navigate from high school to employment, postsecondary education, or training that leads towards a career. Join this call as NHVR Director Lisa Hatz shares information about what the Pre-ETS curriculum includes and how to access the services. Dec 9 chat registration
- Jan 7, 2021, 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Accessibility Services at NH Community Colleges, with Stefanie Howe from the NH Community College System. IEP support ends with the completion of high school. Students with IEPs who are considering a NH community college (and their families) will want to know what supports and services are available to them under Section 504. Examples include academic coaching, assistive technology and the ability to request a reduced course load. Learn more about what is and is not available, and what a student needs to do to access them. Have your questions answered by Stefanie Howe, Coordinator of Accessibility Services for the Community College System. Jan 7 chat registration
After you register you will get a confirmation email with more information about joining the chat.
