Wow – were we excited to find this! The College and Career Competencies Framework from the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning looks like a great resource.
The researchers at the Center for Research on Learning have identified three competency areas necessary for post-school success:
and provide a host of educator resources to understand and teach the individual skills within each area. Click on the picture to the left to see a full-size, downloadable version of the competencies wheel.
The skills are fundamental to adult success, for example: grit, self-efficacy, assertiveness, networking.
The resources include teacher guides with explanations of the skills, suggestions (with links) for assessment tools, and detailed instructional strategies. There are also questionnaires for parents, student and educators with a tool to compile the results for an individual student.
