The Parent Information Center, NH Family Voices and the YEAH Council are excited to bring you the Partnering for Strength 2016 Conference at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH on April 1 and 2, 2016.
The Partnering for Strength Conference is a yearly event sponsored by the Parent Information Center, NH Family Voices and the YEAH Council. It’s an opportunity for parents, youth and professionals to come together to learn and network. The conference includes a keynote speaker, morning, afternoon and short breakout sessions. There is also a Friday evening dinner and networking event.
A unique part of the Partnering for Strength Conference is the special Youth Only sessions! The Take Charge – It’s Your Life youth sessions are planned by youth, for youth. Youth with a disability or special healthcare need ages 14-26 are invited to join other youth on Friday night for dinner and activities, and then on Saturday for sessions on advocacy, finding your voice and independence. Registration cost is $20 which includes Saturday youth-only breakouts along with a full lunch buffet and refreshments throughout the day. The Friday night dinner is also included in the fee but requires preregistration.
The Saturday keynote speaker for the adult conference is Rachel Adams, a writer and Professor of English and American Studies at Columbia University; she also blogs for Huffington Post. She will speak about Making Time for Our Children: Challenges and Opportunities for the Exceptional Family.
The networking and dinner event on Friday, April 1st will have a keynote address by Tracy Strombom, PhD, Warren Street Counseling. He’ll be presenting Humor and How to Deal with Life’s Difficulties. Learn how humor works and how it can help us; hear other people’s experiences on how they have used humor. Preregistration is required along with a fee of $10.

Registration costs $30 for parents of a student with a disability or special healthcare need, $40 for professionals. The registration fee includes a full day of workshops Saturday with over 10 presentations to choose from, a full lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
