Partnering for Strength Conference Mar 27-28 in Concord

NH Family Voices, and the YEAH Council are excited to present Partnering for Strength Conference at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH from Friday, March 27, 2015, at 6 p.m. to Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 4 p.m.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Naseef, a parent of an adult child with a disability, will share his firsthand experience in what is needed for parents and professionals to work together to support children with disabilities and special health care needs. Dr. Naseef will also facilitate a break-out session for men: Guy Talk: Fathers Speak Out about Raising Children with Special Needs.

Other sessions are designed to help parents and professionals learn more about:

  • How to get involved, beyond the IEP
  • Incorporating assistive technology into the IEP
  • The NH insurance marketplace
  • Available grant funding for parents and family members
  • Helping youth build skills for independence
  • Managing difficult conversations
  • and more

Registration is $30 for parents of a child with a disability/special health care need, $40 for professionals, and $20 for youth with a disability/special health care need. This conference fee includes morning, afternoon,  and short breakouts along with a full lunch buffet and refreshments throughout the day.

Special Youth Sessions! Take Charge: It’s Your Life! youth sessions are planned by youth for youth!  If you are between ages 14 and 26, please join us Friday night for dinner and activities and then Saturday for sessions on advocacy, finding your voice, and independence, with good food and time to socialize.  For more information and to register for the youth sessions, click here.
