The Next Steps NH project developed several training courses for our project schools. Some were two-hour workshops or facilitated webinars; others were presentations.  Wherever possible the detailed instruction pages include how-to-use instructions and a PowerPoint with presenter notes.

Two workshops to help build strong school and family connections:

Promoting Family/School Partnerships

Strong school/family partnerships lead to higher student achievement. This webinar teaches a framework to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills that build capacity among school professionals and families to partner with one another around student success. It also introduces tools developed by the Next Steps project.

Listening to Your Child’s Voice While Building Independence

This parent workshop provides information about the importance of listening to your child’s voice when discussing the future, what to consider before your child becomes a legal adult, and how to start building independence during the high school years. Interactive session includes insights, personal stories and reflections of parents of students who have recently left high school.

Provides specifics about school program structures needed to sustain practices begun under Next Steps NH. Part I focuses on infrastructure and use of transition-related data. Part II focuses on personnel and support systems.

 Sustaining RENEW Implementation

This module was developed for NH Next Steps Cohort 1 schools to examine their practices, infrastructure and implementation of RENEW within their schools in order to ensure sustainability as they prepared to scale up RENEW.

Two-hour workshop, advanced beginner level for administrators and key project staff, designed to be delivered by a certified RENEW trainer.

  • Learn for yourself. Start by printing the handouts. Then download and view the PowerPoint, reading the presenter notes under each slide as you go. Some courses include a video recording of the webinar.
  • Deliver the course as designed. Use the detailed presenter notes to prepare.
  • Use a chunk. Pick out the pieces your audience needs or that fit into your available time.
  • Modify the course to better meet your needs. Use our materials as reference and source materials for your own workshop. Please cite the original work in your customized materials.
